Specification: FLUID MIXER AND POWER CONSUMPTION IN AGITATED VESSEL APPARATUS For a processing vessel to be effective the volume of fluid circulated by the impellers must be sufficient to sweep out the entire vessel in a reasonable time. The velocity of the stream leaving the impeller must be sufficient to carry the current to the remotest parts of the tank. Liquids are most often mixed in some kind of tanks or vessels, usually cylindrical in form and with a vertical axis. Tank bottom is rounded to eliminate regions into which the fluid currents would not penetrate. In the present set-up mixing is done with the help of stirrer. GYRATORY SIEVE SHAKER APPARATUS

Specification: GYRATORY SIEVE SHAKER APPARATUS Carries upto 7 sieves of 150mm or 200mm diameter. The shaker is driven by a 1/4 h.p (motor through a reduction a reduction gear immersed in oil. The sieve table does not rotate but is inclined from the vertical axis and the direction of inclination changes progressively in clockwise direction. If the stop-pin below the table is removed, the shaker can have a rotary motion. ROD MILL APPARATUS

CYCLONE SEPARATION APPARATUS

PLATE & FRAME FILTER PRESS APPARATUS

Specification: PLATE & FRAME FILTER PRESS APPARATUS Plate and frame filter presses are used in the beverage industry, for example, to clarify intermediate products. A suspension of diatomite and water (recommended) is prepared in a stirred tank. The stirrer ensures that the solid remains suspended and does not settle. A pump delivers the suspension into the individual separating chambers of the plate and frame filter press. A separating chamber is formed by one filter frame and two filter plates. The filter plates are grooved and covered over with filter cloths. The filtrate passes through the filter cloth and flows via the grooves in the plates into a collecting pipe. The filtrate exits the plate and frame filter press through the collecting pipe and is collected in the filtrate tank. The solid material is separated off at the filter cloth, where it forms a growing filter cake. As the filter cake becomes thicker, its flow resistance also increases. When the separating chamber is full, or a maximum pressure difference has been reached, the filtration process is ended. The plates and frames of the plate and frame filter press are pulled apart. The filter cake can be removed. For the next filtration the plates and frames must be pushed back together. A spindle is used to press them together. The press forces ensure that the suspension does not leak from the contact points between the plates and the frames, but is forced through the filter cloth. The flow rate through the plate and frame filter press is adjusted by a valve. The pressure occurring during filtration is indicated on a manometer. The filtrate tank is scaled. This means a stopwatch can be used to measure the flow rate. An included opacimeter allows the solid concentration of the filtrate to be determined. FROTH FLOATING CELL APPARATUS

Specification: FROTH FLOATING CELL APPARATUS Mixed liberated particles can be separated from each other by floatation if there is sufficient difference in their wet-ability. The floatation process operates by preparing a water suspension of a mixture of relatively finely sized solids. This is usually done in an agitated chamber open at the top. Fine bubbles of air are then dispersed through the agitated suspension to form a froth that rises to the top of the chamber. Particles that are radially wetted by water (hydrophilic) tend to remain in the water suspension. ROTARY VACUUM FILTER APPARATUS

Specification: ROTARY VACUUM FILTER APPARATUS The most common types of continuous vacuum filter are the rotary drum filter. A horizontal drum with a slotted face turns at less than 2 rpm in an agitated slurry trough. A filter medium, such as canvas, covers the face of drum, which is partly submerged in the liquid. Under the slotted cylindrical face of the main drum is a second, smaller drum with a solid surface. THICKENER APPARATUS

Specification: THICKENER APPARATUS Industrial sedimentation operations may be carried out batch wise and continuously in equipment called thickener. The equipment is a cylindrical tank with openings for a slurry feed and product draw off. The tank is filled with dilute slurry and slurry is permitted to settle. Continuous thickeners are large diameter, shallow depth tanks with slowly revolving rakes for removing the sludge. The slurry is fed at the center of the tank. Around the top edge of the tank is a clear liquid overflow. The rake serves to scrap the sludge towards the center of the bottom for discharge. The motion of the rake also stirs only the sludge layer. This gentle stirring aids in water removal from the sludge. LEAF FILTER APPARATUS

Specification: LEAF FILTER APPARATUS Description: Leaf filters, sometimes called tank filters, they consists of flat filtering elements (leaves) supported in a shell. The leaves are circular, arc-sided, or rectangular, and they have filtering surface on both faces.
