Specification:
HORIZONTAL CONDENSER APPARATUS
The present set-up is designed tostudy Horizontal condenser.
It consists of a Horizontal condenserhaving a shell fitted with tubes.
Cold fluid flows through tubes andsteam flows through the shell.
Steam generator is fitted with heaterto provide steam controlled by a Digital Temperature controller.
Level indicator helps to maintainlevel of water in steam generator.
Valves are provided to control theflow rates of cold fluids.
Flow rate of cold water is measuredusing a Rotameter.
Shell is fitted with steam traps fromwhere condensate is collected in measuring cylinder.
Temperature of inlet and outlet ofboth hot & cold fluids are measured by temperature sensor

Usage : Experimentation. To plot the temperature distribution along the length of Bar. To determine the thermal conductivity of given bar at various temperatures.
Type : Thermal Conductivity Of Metal Rod
Frequency : The experimental set up consists of metal bar, one end of which is heated by an electric heater while the other end of the bar projects inside the cooling water jacket. A cylindrical shell filled with insulating material surrounds the middle portion of the bar. The temperature of the bar is measured at different sections. Heat Input to the heater is Fiven through variac. By varying the heat input rates, data can be obtained. Water atconstant rate is circulated through the jacket and its flow rate and temperature rise is noted Hertz (HZ)
