About Flow Meter Demonstration Unit
Flow Meter Demonstration Unit
Edutek Instrumentation are offering a wide range of Flow Meter Demonstration Unit. This experiment has been done to measure the flow rate and associated pressure losses with three devices which is venturi meter, orifice meter and variable area meter. First of all, we must close the ball valve and measure the time taken to accumulate a known volume of fluid in the tank, as measure from the sight-glass. Then, we record all the manometer height and the variable area meter reading and carry out a timed volume collection using the volumetric tank.
OBJECTIVES
- To investigate and contrast the operation and characteristics of three different basics types of flow meter which venture, variable, and orifice including accuracy and energy losses.
- To measure a pressure drop at different segment of device.
- To determine a flow rate through a pipe.
Comprehensive Flow Measurement TrainingThis unit allows students to visualize and measure liquid flow using both digital and analog displays, enhancing their understanding of flow measurement principles. The variable area (rotameter) method helps learners grasp fundamental concepts in hydraulics and process engineering.
Durable and Safe for Classroom UseConstructed from powder-coated mild steel and polypropylene, the unit provides both durability and resistance to corrosion. With built-in overload protection, ABS control panel, and a sturdy design, it ensures safe and reliable operation throughout numerous laboratory sessions.
Effortless Setup and MaintenancePortable and compact at just 18 kg, the FMU-2941267 is easy to install on a tabletop, requiring minimal setup. Maintenance is low, making it an ideal choice for busy educational environments. All essential accessories, including connecting pipes and a manual, are provided for seamless operation.
FAQs of Flow Meter Demonstration Unit:
Q: How is water flow measured in this demonstration unit?
A: The flow meter unit utilizes a rotameter, which operates on the variable area principle. As water moves through the tube, a float rises and indicates the flow rate on both digital and analog displays, covering a measurement range of 0.55 L/min.
Q: What safety features are provided during operation?
A: For safe use in laboratories and training setups, the unit includes overload protection for the pump, ensuring the equipment is safeguarded against electrical or operational overloading.
Q: When should this equipment be used in an academic setting?
A: The Flow Meter Demonstration Unit is ideal for use during practical demonstrations and laboratory experiments in engineering colleges, polytechnics, and vocational institutes. Its well-suited for teaching the principles of hydraulics and flow measurement.
Q: Where can the unit be installed and operated?
A: Designed as a portable tabletop device, the unit can be easily installed in standard laboratory environments with access to electrical outlets (220V AC), and it operates effectively in spaces with ambient conditions up to 80C and 85% humidity.
Q: What is the maintenance process for this unit?
A: Maintenance is straightforward and infrequent thanks to the design and materials used. Regular cleaning of the water tank and checking the pump for any obstructions are typically sufficient to ensure ongoing performance.
Q: How does this equipment benefit technical education?
A: It provides hands-on experience with flow measurement and pump operation, reinforcing theoretical knowledge through direct observation. The dual display system makes readings accessible and improves comprehension for diverse learners.
Q: What accessories are included with the unit?
A: The package contains an instruction manual for setup and operation, as well as connecting pipes to facilitate immediate use upon installation.
