About DEAD WEIGHT PRESSURE GAUGE TESTER APPARATUS

Specification:

DEAD WEIGHT PRESSURE GAUGE TESTER APPARATUS

Deadweight testers are the basic primary standard used worldwide for the accurate calibration of pressure gauges, pressure transducers etc.

The equipment is self-contained and portable so it may be used in lecture theatre demonstrations or as a master calibrator for the laboratory.

The instrument combines a low and high-pressure range provided by two pistons of different effective area.

Calibration is accurate to within 0.025% of reading.

A laboratory calibration certificate is supplied for each piston together with a traceable certificate of over all accuracy.

The pressure in the system is produced by means of a capstan-operated hydraulic ram balanced by dead weight acting upon a piston of known area.

Oil is used as the hydraulic fluid. The pressure developed is applied to the gauge that is to be calibrated.

A spirit level and adjustable feet are provided to enable the operator to level the instrument.

A flotation indicator mounted on the top plate removes the guesswork when floating the piston.

The instrument is supplied complete with necessary weights and a fitted carrying case.

1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 inches BSP and NPT female adaptors are included together with spare seals and a quantity of oil.

Reliable Calibration Performance

This apparatus delivers stable and highly accurate calibration for pressure gauges used in engineering applications. With an immediate response time and a measuring range up to 40 kg/cm, technicians benefit from confident and repeatable results during routine gauge verification. Compact bench-mounted design supports efficient workflows.

Superior Materials & Safety Features

Built with stainless steel and brass, the equipment withstands corrosion and daily operational rigors. Safety is ensured through leak-proof operation and an integrated overpressure protection valve. The powder-coated finish further protects the apparatus, making it suitable for environments with up to 80% relative humidity and temperatures ranging from 10C to 45C.

FAQs of DEAD WEIGHT PRESSURE GAUGE TESTER APPARATUS:

Q: How do I operate the DEAD WEIGHT PRESSURE GAUGE TESTER APPARATUS for gauge calibration?

A: Simply mount your pressure gauge using the provided adaptors, select the desired weights in increments up to 40 kg/cm, and manually operate the piston to apply pressure. The analog display provides immediate and accurate readings.

Q: What types of gauges can be tested with this apparatus?

A: This equipment is compatible with Bourdon tube, diaphragm, and capsule pressure gauges, accommodating standard specimen sizes and connections through its mechanical interface.

Q: Where is this tester best used?

A: The tester is especially suited for engineering laboratories, calibration facilities, and manufacturing units, thanks to its bench-mounted design and rust-resistant construction. It is widely used by exporters, manufacturers, and suppliers in India.

Q: What benefits does the corrosion-resistant design offer?

A: Corrosion-resistant stainless steel and brass construction, along with a powder-coated finish, enhance durability against moisture and harsh environmental conditions, ensuring reliable long-term operation in varied industrial settings.

Q: When should I consider recalibrating my pressure gauge using this apparatus?

A: Calibration should be performed periodically, according to the manufacturers recommendations, or whenever you notice gauge accuracy drift. Regular calibration using this apparatus maintains measurement confidence and compliance with engineering standards.

Q: What safety features are included with the tester?

A: The device incorporates leak-proof seals and an overpressure protection valve to prevent accidental oil spills and safeguard operators from exposure to excessive pressures during testing.

Q: What is the process for changing weights and testing different pressure ranges?

A: Weights can be easily added or removed in increments of 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 kg/cm to achieve your desired test pressure. Manual control allows adjustment up to 40 kg/cm, with instant analog readings provided through the gauge display.
