Description
The Flow Meter Calibration apparatus is for use by all kinds of engineering students. It compares and shows the accuracy and use of the optional fundamental flow meters. Any of the optional flow meters quickly and easily fit into place between the adaptors in the base unit of the apparatus. Four water-filled manometers show the pressure differences at the flow meter and across the overall flow meter assembly. The manometers have a common manifold fitted with an air valve. Students use the handpump (included) to increase the air pressure in the manifold. This offsets the manometer measurement (adjusts the datum). The straight pipe (included) gives a comparison of the true pressure losses caused by the flow meters. The optional Pitot Tube Flow Meter will also show the velocity profile in a pipe. This helps to explain the boundary layer and surface friction in pipes and flow channels.Note: You must order at least one of the optional flow meters to use with the Flow Meter Calibration apparatus.

FAQs of Computerized Flow Meter:
Q: How does the CFM-200 Computerized Flow Meter facilitate the comparison of different flow meters?
A: The CFM-200 is designed to support venturimeter, orifice meter, and rotameter types, allowing users to connect and evaluate each meter using the same test rig. Its digital display and data logging features enable accurate side-by-side performance analysis, helping users identify the most suitable flow meter for specific applications.
Q: What calibration process does the CFM-200 follow, and is a calibration certificate provided?
A: Each unit undergoes precise factory calibration against traceable national standards before shipping. A calibration certificate is included, certifying its measurement accuracy, which remains within 0.5% for the specified flow range. This ensures reliable, repeatable results for both educational and industrial uses.
Q: Where is the CFM-200 typically used, and what are its main application areas?
A: The CFM-200 is suitable for industrial and educational laboratories. Its primary applications involve comparing and calibrating various flow meters, conducting demonstrations, and teaching fluid mechanics in institutions, as well as equipment validation in industrial research or quality control labs.
Q: When should I use the digital data logging feature, and what are its benefits?
A: The digital data logging feature should be used whenever detailed measurement records are required, such as during calibration exercises, comparative tests, or long-duration monitoring. It streamlines data analysis, enhances traceability, and ensures accurate documentation for reporting and review.
Q: What are the installation requirements and mounting type for the CFM-200?
A: The CFM-200 is floor-mounted, requiring a stable, level surface with access to a compatible power supply (220 V/50 Hz). It connects to pressurized water systems using its standard 1/2 inch BSP inlet/outlet fittings, making setup convenient in most laboratory environments.
Q: How does the computerized display enhance usability and precision during experiments?
