About Binder Extractor
Binder Extractor Binder Extractor (Hand Operated)The Instrument is used for determination and checking of Bitumen percentage in Bituminous mix, the mix is added with a solvent and dissolved bitumen is removed by centrifugal action. Consists of a removable Aluminum rotor bowl, Capacity 1500 gms. With a cap and tightening nut. The bowl assembly is mounted on a vertical shaft, which protrudes from a cast housing. This shaft and thus the bowl is rotated fast manually by enclosed gears in the cast body and handle. Solvent is introduced during the test through the holes in the cap of the housing. A drain is provided to collect dissolved Bitumen coming out of the rotating bowl and getting collected in the housing
Durable and Safe Extraction MechanismConstructed from corrosion-resistant stainless steel and aluminum, the Binder Extractor guarantees lasting performance even with demanding solvents like trichloroethylene. The lockable screw lid, integrated discharge valve, and grip-pad supported cast iron legs contribute to safe, spill-free, and stable operations throughout the extraction process.
Precision and Versatility in Asphalt TestingSuitable for both manual and semi-automatic operation, this extractor offers precise control over machine speed (060 rpm), sample load (up to 150 gm), and a resolution as fine as 0.01 g. Its compatibility with standard solvents and operating temperature up to 70C makes it a reliable solution for laboratories and field applications in bitumen analysis.
FAQs of Binder Extractor :
Q: How do I safely operate and clean the Binder Extractor after use?
A: To safely operate, securely fix your sample, tighten the lid, and set the desired speed for manual centrifugal extraction. After use, undo the screw lid, remove the stainless steel bowl for cleaning, and use the discharge valve to drain any remaining solvent. Always ensure the device is powered off and cooled before cleaning and maintenance.
Q: What type of solvents can be used with this Binder Extractor model?
A: The machine is compatible with standard extraction solvents such as trichloroethylene. Its corrosion-resistant build ensures safe and effective operation with commonly used solvents in bitumen and asphalt testing applications.
Q: When should I use the Binder Extractor during the asphalt testing process?
A: Utilize the Binder Extractor during the bitumen content determination phase of asphalt analysis. It is specifically designed for this purpose, delivering accurate extraction results vital for quality assurance in road construction projects.
Q: Where is this Binder Extractor most effectively used?
A: This extractor is best suited for laboratories conducting asphalt and bitumen content testing, as well as in field labs for road construction projects. Its robust construction and portability make it suitable for both stationary and mobile testing environments.
Q: What process does the Binder Extractor use to separate bitumen from asphalt samples?
A: It employs centrifugal extraction, wherein the manual rotation creates a force that separates bitumen from the aggregate. The integrated drainage system then allows for easy removal of the extracted liquid through a spout and valve.
Q: How does the extractor benefit road construction and quality control processes?
A: By providing precise and repeatable bitumen content measurements, the extractor supports quality control standards in road construction. Its accuracy, user-friendly design, and durable construction help ensure compliance and maximize efficiency during materials testing.
