About Anerobic Digester
Anaerobic Digester
Description:
The Anaerobic Digester is comprised of two 1.3 gallon upward flow packed bed reactors, with feed rate and temperature controls to allow steady, continuous operation at up to 1.1 gallons per day. The reactors may be operated in series or parallel. A buffer vessel between the reactors permits discharge of excess flow from the first reactor when the second reactor is operated in series, but at a lower flow rate. The flow rates to the vessels are set and controlled by peristaltic pumps. The temperature of each reactor is controlled by an electric heating tape wrapped around the external wall. The temperature distribution within each reactor is maintained to ±1°F. Reactor temperatures may be separately set at any desired value in the range ambient to 131°F. The gas off-take from each reactor is taken to a volumetrically calibrated collector vessel operating by water displacement. A constant head, liquid seal device ensures that the gas pressure in the reactor is maintained at a constant value throughout the test run. The collected gas can be exhausted from the vessel and the volume refilled with water during a run, without breaking the liquid seal. Liquid and gas sampling points are located at all strategic points around the reactors.
The equipment is mounted on a steel base with an integral barrier to cope with spillage and wash down. The base is finished in instrument tan texture enamel. The control panel is finished in gloss white enamel and silk screened in KEM black enamel.

FAQs of Anerobic Digester:
Q: How does the Anerobic Digester generate biogas from organic waste?
A: The AD-750 digester uses anaerobic microorganisms to break down organic materials such as animal manure, food waste, and crop residues in an oxygen-free environment. This biological process produces biogascomposed primarily of methane (5565%) and carbon dioxide (3040%)while converting the remaining material into nutrient-rich effluent.
Q: What types of waste are suitable for feeding into the digester?
A: This digester accepts various organic wastes including animal manure, food scraps, and agricultural residues. Using diverse feedstocks improves biogas yield and ensures operational flexibility for farms, food processors, and agricultural enterprises.
Q: When should the digester be used, and what is the typical retention time?
A: The AD-750 is suitable for continuous or batch operation, with a typical retention time of 2030 days. It should be used whenever there is a steady supply of suitable organic waste and a need for renewable energy or eco-friendly effluent.
Q: Where can the AD-750 digester be installed?
A: Designed for on-site deployment, the modular construction allows installation at farms, food industries, and agricultural sites across varied climates (from -10C to +45C). Its customizable dimensions and inlet/outlet sizes make the digester suitable for a wide range of project requirements.
Q: What is the operational process of this anaerobic digester?
A: The digester is loaded with organic waste through inlets (typically 410 inches). An agitator ensures even mixing, while thermal insulation maintains optimal temperatures (25C to 60C). Biogas accumulates in a gas holder and can be measured via analog or digital displays, while treated effluent is discharged for composting or fertigation.
Q: How is safety maintained during biogas production?
A: The AD-750 incorporates overpressure safety valves, flame arrestors, and a leak-proof design to protect operators and facilities. Its robust construction using primer and epoxy paints or stainless steel further enhances corrosion resistance and longevity.
Q: What are the key benefits of using the AD-750 Anerobic Digester?
A: The digester offers high biogas yields, reduces organic waste, and delivers treated effluent for agricultural reuse. Its modular, customizable design and advanced safety measures ensure adaptable, secure, and efficient waste-to-energy conversion, supporting both sustainability and operational cost savings.
