FAQs of Spectrometer .:

Q: How does the SP-101 spectrometer achieve accurate wavelength measurements?

A: The SP-101 spectrometer uses a prism-based system with an 80 mm diameter table and an analog scale for high-precision readings. The combination of a 2 nm wavelength resolution, manual rack and pinion focusing, and micrometer-adjusted slit width ensures accurate spectral analysis across the 340 to 900 nm range.

Q: What is the recommended process for calibrating the SP-101 spectrometer?

A: Calibration of the SP-101 is performed using established mercury or sodium lamps. By observing known spectral lines from these lamps, users can set the analog scale precisely, ensuring reliable and repeatable measurements for laboratory analyses.

Q: Where should the spectrometer be installed for optimal performance?

A: Install the spectrometer on a flat surface in a dust-free, non-condensing room. Ensure that a power point (220 V, 50 Hz) is accessible to power the device. The area should also remain within the ambient to 50C temperature range for consistent results.

Q: What are the usage benefits of the SP-101 in laboratory applications?

A: The SP-101 offers highly efficient, 100% accurate wavelength readings, making it ideal for educational demonstrations and research tasks. Its robust design, easy manual operation, and ability to process up to 30 samples per session enhance both productivity and the reliability of analytical results.

Q: When is it necessary to adjust the focus or slit width on the spectrometer?

A: Focus and slit adjustments should be made when changing samples or observing spectral lines of different intensities. The rack and pinion focusing system and micrometer screw for slit width enable users to obtain sharp and clear spectra, essential for precise measurements.

Q: What core components contribute to the spectrometers accurate performance?

A: Key components include the optical glass collimator, the 10X telescope, the precision prism table, and the analog scale. The robust materialsanodized aluminum and brass fittingsfurther ensure enduring calibration stability and accurate optical alignments.

Q: How does the SP-101 support various sample capacities and what models are available?

A: The SP-101 spectrometer is available in multiple models, with standard configurations handling up to 30 samples. This flexibility accommodates diverse laboratory testing protocols while maintaining top performance and accuracy.
