About Pocket Concrete Penetrometer
Pocket Concrete Penetrometer
For fast evaluation of the initial setting of concrete. It can be used on light weight concrete, special roof deck mixes and concrete additives.
Specification :
Consists of a needle having face area 3/10 sq. cm. and graduated at a distance of 25cm. The needles point is an integral part of barrel which houses a calibrated spring. The spring is confined in a sleeve. The resistance offered by the concrete mortar is shown on the direct reading scale with a marker ring which holds its position when released. 2 Scale range is 0-50kg/cm2 when the penetration resistance reaches a 2 value of 35kg /cm2 the concrete is assumed initially set. Supplied complete in carrying case. Precision On-Site Concrete TestingUtilize the PCP-100 Pocket Concrete Penetrometer to quickly assess concrete strength directly at your construction site. Its spring-driven mechanism and clear analog dial enable straightforward, accurate readings, making it an essential tool for engineers, inspectors, and quality controllers focused on reliable, immediate results in varying field conditions.
Built for Durability and EaseThe PCP-100s nickel-plated steel and aluminum construction offers excellent resistance against corrosion, ensuring prolonged lifespan even with regular field use. Compact and lightweight at approximately 400 grams, the penetrometer fits conveniently in your pocket or included carrying case, providing both portability and protection during transportation.
FAQs of Pocket Concrete Penetrometer:
Q: How does the Pocket Concrete Penetrometer measure concrete strength on-site?
A: The PCP-100 operates on a spring compression principle, where the 8 mm diameter plunger is pressed into the concrete surface. The analog dial displays the peak force required to penetrate, allowing you to estimate the concretes strength directly and instantly.
Q: What are the main benefits of using this handheld penetrometer in the field?
A: Its primary benefits include quick, direct readings without external power, ease of use, portability, and compliance with IS: 2720 (Part 5). Additionally, the mechanical overload protection feature ensures instrument safety during testing.
Q: When should I use the Pocket Concrete Penetrometer during a construction project?
A: It is best used for quick strength assessments at various stages of concrete curing or when immediate quality control decisions are needed before proceeding with subsequent construction steps.
Q: Where should the penetrometer be stored when not in use?
A: Store the penetrometer in dry environments, away from direct sunlight, to prevent moisture damage and preserve the corrosion-resistant finish. Using the provided carrying case is highly recommended.
Q: What is included in the package with the PCP-100 Pocket Concrete Penetrometer?
A: The package includes the penetrometer itself, a sturdy carrying case, and a comprehensive instruction manual to guide you through set-up, usage, and maintenance procedures.
Q: How can I ensure accurate results during concrete strength testing?
A: For precise measurements, ensure the device is positioned perpendicular to the concrete surface, apply consistent pressure, and read the analog dial immediately after each penetration. Avoid testing on rough or fractured areas for best results.
