FAQs of Magnetic Stirrers:
Q: How do you operate the magnetic stirrer safely in laboratory conditions?
A: To operate the magnetic stirrer, place your flask or beaker on the stainless steel top plate and insert a compatible stirring bar (up to 50 mm). Set the desired speed using the rotary knob. Always ensure the unit is on a level, dry surface and connected to a suitable 220 V AC mains outlet. Overheat protection and non-slip feet provide additional safety during use.
Q: What types of glassware can be used with this magnetic stirrer?
A: This equipment is suitable for borosilicate and laboratory-grade glassware, ensuring compatibility with standard lab containers, beakers, and flasks used in chemical and biological experiments.
Q: When should you adjust the speed of the magnetic stirrer?
A: Adjust the speed between 100 and 1200 RPM as needed for optimal mixing, depending on the viscosity and volume of your samples. Lower speeds are generally used for gentle mixing and higher speeds for vigorous stirring, allowing customization for various experimental protocols.
Q: Where is the best environment to use this magnetic stirrer?
A: This device is designed exclusively for indoor laboratory conditions. It should be placed in a secure, stable area free from moisture and excessive heat, for safe and efficient operation.
Q: What is the process for cleaning and maintaining the magnetic stirrer?
A: After use, simply wipe down the powder-coated mild steel body and the stainless steel top plate with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Regular cleaning helps prevent contamination and maintains the stirrers corrosion resistance.
Q: What benefits does the magnetic stirrer offer for chemical and biological experiments?
A: The stirrer provides accurate, consistent mixing at controllable speeds, low noise levels, and high temperature resistance (up to 250C for heating models). Its compact, corrosion-resistant design and safety features make it dependable for repeated laboratory use.
