About Laminar Air Flow (LAF)-Horizontal
Laminar Air Flow Cabinets- Horizontal ETC-73ALaminar Air Flow Cabinets works on laminar flow principle involves double filtration of air through coarse Pre Filters (upto 5 microns) and Hepa filters (down to 0.3 microns) for filtration of Biological & Particulate contaminants. A constant uni-directional air flows either Horizontally or Vertically, is drawn from atmosphere and passed through pre and Hepa filters on to the work surface. Fabricated out of reinforced pest and weather resistant Duro-board which is clad in from outside in laminated sheet and inner exposed areas are finished in Epoxy paint. Table top stainless steel sheet. Side panels are fixed and made of clear plexiglass. Front door is folding & made of clear plexiglass.
Material - Inner SS and Outer SS Inner SS and Outer MS
Available in following sizes :- Work area 4x2x2 Prefilters:-DOP tested as per Standard BS: 2831 with efficiency 90% down to 5microns. Made of Washable synthetic material.
Hepa Filters:-Made of Microglass fibre with corrugated aluminium foil separators. DOP tested as per US Standard 209B. Efficiency 99.97% down to0.3 microns.
Blower Units:-Assembly of AU or equivalent motor workable on 220V AC 50Hzsingle phase, dynamically balanced blowers making the unit least vibrant with minimum noise level.
Features:-
- Lighting : Fluorescent tube lights
- Sterilization : Germicidal Ultra Violet (UV) tube
- Manometer : Static pressure thick Acrylic block type
K-System:-The K-System encompasses the specialist requirement of ocyte, and embryo handling during procedures in both animal and human reproduction. The K-system is often built into a Laminar Flow Cabinet. The utensils are warmed by the heating of part of the table plate of the cabinet.
The transmitted light source and the regulation transformer for the stereo microscope are located under the stainless steel table plate, with a window for transmitted light built into the table plate.
Advantages of the K-System:-
- Maximum working area in Laminar Flow Cabinet
- Handling of ocytes and embryos on one level
- All ocytes from one patient in one storage tray
- Ocytes stored in cabinet until insemination
- Cleaning is easy and sterilization possible
- Laminar with All Stainless steel body / Sealing / Wall Hanging can also be fabricated
- Suitable for Pharmaceutical Industries as per the requirement
Superior Filtration for Critical ApplicationsEquipped with a state-of-the-art HEPA filter and washable pre-filter, this LAF system assures a 99.99% removal of particles as tiny as 0.3 microns, meeting the highest standards for cleanliness in laboratory and pharmaceutical operations. The result is a reliable, sterile workspace that protects both users and processes from contamination.
Safety, Comfort, and Convenience IntegratedNoise levels remain comfortably low (<65 dB(A)), and the 304-grade stainless steel worktable ensures easy cleaning and durability. The microprocessor-based control panel provides real-time monitoring and ease of use, while extra features like the UV lamp, electrical sockets, and ample illumination create a secure, well-equipped work area.

Its mobility, enabled by castor wheels, and intuitive operationboth manual and automaticmake it highly suitable for dynamic laboratory, medical, and industrial environments where flexibility and hygiene are paramount.
FAQs of Laminar Air Flow (LAF)-Horizontal:
Q: How does the Laminar Air Flow (LAF)-Horizontal provide a sterile workspace?
A: The LAF system uses a HEPA filter with 99.99% efficiency for particles as small as 0.3 microns, combined with a pre-filter and a UV lamp. Air flows evenly from the back towards the operator, sweeping contaminants away from the work area and maintaining aseptic conditions.
Q: What is the typical process for operating this LAF system?
A: To operate, activate the blower and allow the unit to purge the air for several minutes. Ensure the UV lamp is used for sterilization before starting the work and switch to the fluorescent lamp during activities. Microprocessor controls and sliding acrylic doors enable easy operation manually or automatically.
Q: When should the pre-filter and HEPA filter be serviced or replaced?
A: The washable synthetic fiber pre-filter should be cleaned regularly as per the manufacturers guidelines, depending on usage and environmental load. The HEPA filter generally requires replacement based on pressure drop or after several thousand hours of operation, or if a decrease in air quality is observed.
Q: Where is this horizontal LAF typically installed and used?
A: This LAF unit is designed for laboratory, medical, pharmaceutical, and research environments where maintaining a contaminant-free workspace is crucial. Its portability allows easy relocation within facilities as needed.
Q: What are the main advantages of using this horizontal LAF in a laboratory or research setting?
A: Key benefits include high particulate filtration efficiency, easy accessibility with sliding doors, spacious stainless steel workspace, quiet operation, enhanced operator safety, clear visibility, and flexible control options. These features ensure superior product and sample protection.
Q: How does the control panel contribute to efficient usage?
A: The microprocessor-based control panel allows users to monitor airflow, adjust settings, and control device functions accurately. It simplifies operation, ensures parameter consistency, and enhances overall laboratory safety and productivity.
