About Impact Of Jet Apparatus
Impact Of Jet Apparatus
We are counted among the most prominent manufacturers, traders and exporters of high quality Impact of jet of vanes. Designed in compliance with industry leading parameters, it is used to study the forced developed of a jet of water on different surfaces and to compare it with momentum theory. Offered set up consists of visible test enclosure, supply tank, measuring tank and pump for closed loop water circulation.
Description:
The setup consists of a two sided clear fabrication section. Water is fed through a nozzle and discharged vertically to strike a target carried on a stem which extends through the cover. A weight carrier is mounted on the upper end of the stem. The dead weight of the moving parts is counter balanced by a compression spring. The vertical force exerted on the target plate is measured by adding the weights supplied to the weight pan until the mark on the weight pan corresponds with the level gauge. A total of two targets are provided, a flat plate and a hemispherical cup.
Experimentation:
- To measure the force developed by a jet of water impinging upon a stationary object and comparison with the forces predicted by the momentum theory
- Utilities required: Hydraulic Bench
Technical Specifications:
- Test Plates: Material Brass (2 Nos.), Flat Plate, Hemispherical Cup
- Nozzle: Material Brass
- Stainless Steel enclosure: Having of opposite sides made of glass.
- Instruction Manual: An ENGLISH instruction manual will be provided along with the Apparatus

FAQs of Impact Of Jet Apparatus:
Q: How is the Impact of Jet Apparatus operated during experiments?
A: The apparatus is operated manually by controlling water flow through a stop valve. An electric motor-driven centrifugal pump delivers water to interchangeable stainless steel nozzles, which direct the jet onto various vane shapes. The resulting force is measured using the analog pressure gauge and by observing changes in the collecting tank.
Q: What experiments can be performed using this apparatus?
A: Users can investigate the force exerted by water jets on flat, curved, and hemispherical vanes at different flow rates and jet diameters, allowing the study of hydraulic impact, flow measurement accuracy, and the behavior of water under different conditions.
Q: When is the apparatus most beneficial for laboratory use?
A: It is especially beneficial for educational and research laboratories needing accurate hydraulic impact studies, fluid mechanics demonstrations, and analyses of jet force on surfaces. Its robust construction and precise measurements are suited to frequent, high-accuracy testing.
Q: Where can this apparatus be installed in a laboratory setting?
A: The unit can be placed either on a tabletop or mounted on the floor. Its compact and modular design (dimensions: 900 mm x 450 mm x 1200 mm) allows flexibility in laboratory layout.
Q: What materials are used to build the Impact of Jet Apparatus?
A: The apparatus utilizes powder-coated mild steel for the frame, polished stainless steel for vanes and nozzles, and incorporates acrylic and brass for other core components, ensuring durability and resistance against corrosion.
Q: What process is followed for measuring water flow and jet impact forces?
A: Water flow is controlled via the stop valve, and the flow rate is measured by observing the change in water volume in the graduated collecting tank. The jets impact force on various vanes is assessed by reading the analog pressure gauge and noting changes in water displacement.
Q: What are the benefits of using this apparatus for hydraulic experimentation?
A: Benefits include high accuracy (1% for flow measurement), easy assembly and operation, corrosion-resistant construction, and flexibility to study multiple kinetic scenarios by using different vane types and nozzle sizes. It supports practical learning and reliable data collection for fluid mechanics research.
