About Edutek Longitudinal Compressometer

Longitudinal Compressometer

It is designed for finding out the deformation and strains on 15cms. Diameter and 30 cms high cement and concrete cylinders when subjected to compressive loads.

Specification :

Consists of a frame with a bottom ring and a top ring with tightening screws to firmly clamp the compressometer over the cylinder. A dial gauge. 002mm x 5mm is mounted on the upper ring and the tie of the dial gauge rests on an anvil. The zero on the dial gauge can be set by adjusting the anvil screw. Supplied in a wooden carrying case.

Exceptional Measurement Precision

Designed for rigorous testing environments, this mechanical compressometer provides high-accuracy deformation measurements, boasting a least count of 0.001 mm. The sturdy frame stabilizes cylindrical concrete specimens up to 150 mm in diameter, while the reliable dial gauge ensures consistent, repeatable results. This accuracy is crucial for researchers and testers requiring precise strain assessment during compression tests.

Durable, User-Friendly Construction

With a manual, power-free operation, the is built to last, utilizing corrosion-resistant mild steel and aluminum. The ergonomic clamping mechanism with knife edges maximizes specimen stability. Weighing only 4.5 kg and delivered in a compact, protective box, its easy to transport and set up in a range of settings. The clear display and straightforward assembly make it suitable for both experienced technicians and new laboratory staff.

FAQs of Longitudinal Compressometer:

Q: How do I attach the compressometer to a cylindrical concrete specimen?

A: To install, simply clamp the compressometer onto the specimen using the integrated knife edges. Ensure the knife edges contact the specimen firmly at the designated points for accurate measurement during compression testing.

Q: What is the main benefit of using a manual compressometer ?

A: The key advantages are its high accuracy (0.001 mm least count), reliability, and independence from power sources, allowing precise deformation measurements anywhere, even in field environments.

Q: When should this compressometer be used during testing?

A: The is primarily used during compression tests on cylindrical concrete specimens to monitor and record longitudinal deformation, helping determine material properties such as Youngs modulus.

Q: Where is this device commonly used?

A: This compressometer is commonly utilized in civil engineering laboratories, research centers, and by construction suppliers involved in quality control and material evaluation of concrete specimens.

Q: What is the maximum specimen diameter compatible with this instrument?

A: The compressometer is designed for cylindrical concrete specimens with a maximum bar diameter of up to 150 mm, accommodating a broad range of standard sample sizes.

Q: What makes this compressometer resistant to corrosion?

A: Its robust construction using mild steel and aluminum, along with a quality finish, ensures durability and resistance to corrosion, making it suitable for varied laboratory and site conditions.
