About Demonstration Meter
Demonstration Meter
With interchangeable scales. A versatile instrument and demonstration meter that can be converted to an a.c., or d.c. voltmeter or ammeter with selection of various ranges for each mode. With a high quality moving coil, spring controlled movement with full scale deflection of 5 mA or 100 mV d.c. The long pointer has a spade end and is clearly visible from a distance. Fitted in case with glass front and back. The instrument can be used with different dials to give different voltage and current ranges. All dials are interchangeable and each has a plug coupler to fit the instrument. The coupler connects appropriate resistors, shunts or rectifiers to convert the instrument to the range as given on the scale of the particular dial. The scales have clear bold figures and are marked on both sides to enable the lecturer also to observe the reading from the back of the instrument. A zero adjuster allows the instrument to be used for centre zero dials. One dial of range 50-0-50 mV d.c. is supplied with the instrument. In wooden case.
High Visibility and SafetyThe large frontal display and shock-proof enclosure ensure students and instructors can safely observe readings from a distance. White casing and red indicator markings enhance scale visibility, making this meter especially suitable for classroom demonstrations.
Precision and Ease of UseEquipped with a knife-edge pointer and fine graduation, this analog meter allows for detailed and precise measurements. Manual needle movement means no need for external power, offering reliable operation every time.
Built for Educational ApplicationsDesigned for direct use in classrooms, physics labs, and college experiments, this meter supports hands-on learning in electrical measurement. Its compact, robust design and factory calibration make it a practical and dependable educational tool.
FAQs of Demonstration Meter:
Q: How do I use the Demonstration Meter for classroom experiments?
A: To use the meter, securely connect your experiment wires to the screw-type terminals, ensuring the current does not exceed 1A or 5V DC. Place the meter on a bench top, observe the manual needle movement on the dial, and read the measurement indicated by the knife-edge pointer.
Q: What makes this demonstration meter suitable for educational settings?
A: Its large frontal display, clear analog scale, and shock-proof enclosure enhance both visibility and safety. The meter is factory-calibrated for accurate results, allowing students to observe and understand electrical measurements during practical experiments.
Q: When should calibration or maintenance of the meter be performed?
A: The demonstration meter comes factory calibrated for immediate use. Routine calibration is generally not required for standard classroom applications, but for extended use or if accuracy is questioned, calibration can be performed by qualified professionals.
Q: Where is the ideal location to use this meter?
A: This meter is intended for indoor, bench-top use in physics labs, schools, and colleges. The robust construction and shock-proof design make it well-suited for busy classroom environments.
Q: What benefits does the knife-edge pointer provide?
A: The knife-edge pointer eliminates parallax errors, ensuring precise readings even from different angles. This design supports accurate demonstration and enhances learning outcomes for students.
Q: What is the maximum measurement capacity of the device?
A: The demonstration meter can directly display measurements up to 1A of current and 5V DC voltage, suitable for most basic educational electrical experiments.
Q: How does the shock-proof enclosure enhance user safety?
A: The enclosure protects users from accidental shocks and ensures internal components remain secure, making the meter safe for frequent handling in educational environments.
