CONCENTRIC TUBE HEAT EXCHANGER APPARATUS This is the simplest of the optionalheat exchangers. It has two tubes, one inside the other. One tube carries hot fluid, the othercarries cold fluid. Heat transfers between them. Edutek heat exchanger is in two equalparts joined by intermediate pipes. This allows two extra measurementpoints at the midpoint (plus the standard four points at the connectors). Thisgives more useful experiment results, to show more clearly how the fluidtemperatures change during heat transfer. The Service Module (TD360) provideshot and cold water to the heat exchanger and all the instruments needed tomeasure its performance. All fluid connections to the heatexchanger are self-sealing quick connectors - for safety and simplicity. Thehot and cold fluid streams have different connectors to reduce errors. Connecting the heat exchanger takesless than one minute. The heat exchanger is on a bedplatethat has a clear schematic diagram showing the connections. The bedplate fixes to the ServiceModule with thumbscrews.
