About Clinometer Compass

Clinometer Compass

Clinometer Handle Compass is a reproduction of an antique Clinometer compass. The Handle Compass gets its name from its "handle" shaped sight, which actually serves two purposes: With the compass level, an object can be viewed through the peep sights to determine its magnetic heading. The second and most interesting purpose is when tilting the compass on its side and viewing an object through the sights, its angle of elevation or declination can be found. A weighted pendulous arm beneath the compass needle can be read from one of three scales: Angle in degrees beneath the zenith (from straight up), angle in degrees of elevation or declination, and in inches per yard of slope. The compass has a needle lift mechanism to protect the compass jewel and the pendulous arm when being transported.

Precision Measurement for Fieldwork

Engineered for professionals in geological survey and civil engineering, this clinometer compass delivers accurate and consistent measurements. Its floating scale and high-grade magnetic compass make it indispensable for those requiring precise directional and angular readings in demanding field conditions.

Durable Design and Reliable Performance

Built from matte aluminum, the instrument withstands tough environments while maintaining a lightweight form for easy handling. It operates efficiently in temperatures ranging from -10C to +50C, and the included carrying case offers added protection during transit and storage.

FAQs of Clinometer Compass:

Q: How do I use the clinometer compass for geological survey or civil engineering?

A: Simply hold the handheld compass level, align the floating scale with the direction or slope you wish to measure, and read the angle (0-90 degrees) for inclination or the bearing (360 degrees) for compass orientation. Its ergonomic design ensures ease of use even in outdoor environments.

Q: What is the process for obtaining accurate readings with this instrument?

A: Ensure the device is level and away from metallic objects to prevent magnetic interference. Read the measurements directly from the floating scale, which provides graduations in both clinometer and compass modes. The instruments 0.5 degree accuracy ensures reliable results every time.

Q: When should I use this clinometer compass during a field survey?

A: The clinometer compass is ideal for use whenever precise directional or slope measurements are required, such as mapping geological formations or assessing structural angles in civil engineering projects. It performs consistently in various weather conditions within -10C to +50C.

Q: Where is this clinometer compass manufactured and supplied from?

A: This instrument is manufactured, supplied, and exported from India by experienced companies specializing in precision surveying equipment for professionals worldwide.

Q: What benefits does the matte aluminum surface finish provide?

A: The matte aluminum finish offers enhanced durability while minimizing glare in bright conditions. This ensures clear visibility of readings and protects the device from field-related wear and corrosion.

Q: Is any accessory included with the clinometer compass?

A: Yes, each clinometer compass comes with a robust carrying case, providing convenient and protective storage for the instrument during transport and between uses.
